Genetic Counseling Application & Admissions Dates

Fall 2027 Dates

Applications for Fall 2027 admission will be accepted from September 11, 2026, through 11:59 p.m. (MST) on December 18, 2026. Applications will not be accepted after the deadline. The Genetic Counseling Graduate Program participates in the NMS Match system. Applicants who match with the program will receive admission notification from both the University of Arizona Graduate College and the Genetic Counseling Graduate Program.

AGA is pleased to offer a scholarship for prospective genetic counseling students applying to genetic counseling programs in Arizona. This scholarship could provide up to $180* to cover the cost of application fees for The University of Arizona Genetic Counseling program.
Priority will be given to: 
• Applicants from underserved backgrounds 
• Applicants with financial hardships and/or
• Applicants with ties to Arizona. 
Please complete the scholarship application by DECEMBER 1, 2026. Winners will be notified shortly after. 

Please complete the application in its entirety. All information will be kept confidential and used solely for scholarship selection purposes. Application review will be anonymous and will not be used for any decisions related to the genetic counseling graduate program admissions process.
*Scholarship award amount will depend on which program(s) an applicant applies to. The number of scholarships each year depends on available funding and number of applicants.

Letters of Recommendation Deadline: January 8, 2027
We provide recommenders with additional time after the application deadline to submit their letters of recommendation. For the Fall 2027 admission cycle, letters must be received by January 8, 2027.
